It is time
A visual meditation
(Press play, then read on)
It is time to slow down
This chaotic world
This frenetic life
These swirling thoughts
It is time for stillness
To close our eyes
To take a breath
To sense the weight of our bodies
against the ground beneath us
It is time to feel our roots
Are they thin and shallow
loosened by the lightest breeze?
Or do they reach down deep into earth
anchoring us against the wildest storms?
It is time to feel our branches
Are they weary and drooping
leaf buds straining to unfurl?
Or are they strong and sky-reaching
foliage bursting with colour?
Let us use this precious pause
To deepen our roots and expand our branches
To draw up from our rich inner soil
Flourishing creativity
Radiating authenticity
Let us use this precious pause
To extend our roots and branches to others
To share our sweet nutrients
Encouraging growth
Strengthening connections
It is time for one-ness
With ourselves
With our communities
Together we are resilient
Together we thrive
Reflections
How might we deepen our roots and expand our branches?
How might we extend our roots and branches to others?
